  • The 23rd Annual Harlem Holiday Lights celebration is a street lighting event that stretches along 125th Street from 5th Avenue going west to Marginal Street.

Interactive Lighting Displays

Contemporary visual stimuli that dazzles the community.

This area serves as the focal point of the event and starting point of the Parade of Lights. It features a Public Art Display that transforms a city tree into a community interactive experience with sounds and lights and a stage with music and entertainment.

Parade of Lights

A caravan of lighted floats, vehicles, and people following the BID’s lighting contractor as he turns on the decorative streamers that hang across 125th Street, one-by-one, until 125th Street is transformed into a sea of lights. The event features a toy drive and include businesses and residents along the parade route turning on their holiday lights as the parade passes.

Scavenger Hunt

A year round hunt fun filled contest that bridges education, shopping and culture. Participants get clues from the Harlem Happenings App that guides and directs them to use libraries, visit museums, explore history and more to find clues and collect points. After acquiring enough points, prizes can be redeemed at participating businesses. The hunts kicks off on November 17, 2016. Cash prizes also available from the BID.

Custom Pole Decoration

Have your name in lights on 125th Street

A custom pole decoration with your company name will be installed on the new LED street lights that line 125th Street. Your company name will be on display for the 2016, 2017, and 2018 holiday lighting and very visible to your customer on these newly installed fixtures.
