Intro. 1506: A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to establishing timelines for the approval of permits and expanding real time tracking of pending permits
Business owners in New York City deserve expedient and transparent procedures when applying for a permit or license. This local law would require that city agencies that issues permits or licenses establish publicly available timelines for approving permits, tools for tracking the real-time status of permit applications, and would also require that the administration establish steps for accountability if timelines are not adequately met.
Intro. 1513: A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to banning the sale of personal care products which contain certain chemicals in the city of New York
This bill bans the sale of all cosmetics containing certain formaldehyde-releasing chemicals and potentially harmful preservatives in New York City. Some preservatives used in cosmetics can release the harmful chemical formaldehyde under certain conditions. Additionally, some studies have identified the presence of certain preservatives used in cosmetics in breast cancer tumors.
Intro. 1514: A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to facilitating food donations
This bill would require the Department of Sanitation, in conjunction with the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications, to create and maintain a web portal that will allow prospective food donors and recipients to post notifications concerning the availability of food, including food that would otherwise go to waste, and to arrange for the transportation or retrieval of such food.
Intro. 1521: A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to reducing civil penalties where food service establishments donate or recycle organic waste
This bill would require the Department of Sanitation and the Department of Consumer Affairs to establish an organic waste donation and recycling program where food service establishments could have the civil penalties for eligible violations waived if they agree to donate or recycle their organic waste.
Intro. 1526: A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to reducing civil penalties where food service establishments donate left over food
This bill would require the Department of Sanitation and the Department of Consumer Affairs to establish a food donation program where food service establishments could have the civil penalties for eligible violations waived if they agree to donate their excess food.
